In Trump’s first term, I clung to donor- and corporate-driven media hoping for clarity, and instead got civility theater and editorial evasions. As the stakes rose, their framing stayed safe. They couldn’t, or wouldn’t, confront the hard truths about America that implicated their own pre-Trump narratives.
That disillusionment still fuels my work. We need to support storytellers and political analysts who aren’t scrambling to sanitize history or separate Trump from the systems that empowered him. Neoliberalism and neoconservatism aren’t distinct from Trumpism; they’re its scaffolding.
If you’re done waiting for legacy media to name the rot, this one’s for you.
