Anthony brings the past forward into the present by explaining the long restorative struggle of the Confederacy through anti-Black political movements and cultural signaling. We should not be surprised that the rollback of rights have moved at such a rapid pace when we dare to look at the unvarnished truth of white supremacy in American life and history.
