Well written totally agree. Or are both sides so hand in hand with their donors. I am a liberal. I am all about taking care of our people and being responsible with clean water, truth, honesty but where are the leaders? The whole thing has spiraled into autocracy.

Enlightening view of how we got here, and how societies periodically fall apart. We need to build a new consensus and I’m pretty sure a Democratic win won’t do it and falling into fascism is obviously a terrible end.

I agree up to a point. All the young people I know, granted, I live in NYC, enthusiastically voted for Kamala. I still find it hard to believe she lost. I am still shocked that there was no recount. I think the old school, corporate Democrats wanted her to lose, or at least weren't willing to go to war for her.

I definitely do agree that the Democrats have to get rid of the old guard. Pelosi, Schumer, Jeffries, etc, have not helped at all. They sound like high school principals trying to get the kids to all play nice together. Consider how "playing nice" has benefited us. Thousands can die from the lack of aid for USAID. Children in the US will go hungry in the US because SNAP benefits are cut. Racism has come out in full force...Nah! It is time to fight. It is also time to prove to the former MAGAs that we really do want to improve their lives as well as others. We need to prove in simple terms that our economy always flourishes when we are in charge AND the poor get fed, the sick get insurance, other nations like us...

She Won. Yet, we obviously needed more clarifying!

Although I voted for her too, Kamala Harris lost because she focused her campaign efforts on trying to get the Never Trumper votes and undecideds rather than the younger registered Democrats who were concerned about things like climate change, the economy, and health care. Corporate Democrats are the ones who wanted Harris to win because she is much more centrist than Biden. Agree that the Democrats need new leadership on all counts; Schumer and Ken Martin need to go. I am waiting to decide about Jeffries because he has improved on messaging the last several weeks.

He who compromises with evil becomes evil.

If a mugger demands our wallet, do you say, let's compromise I will give you half?

Revelations 3:16 (apologies , this atheist using the bible) then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth.

A centrist is a sell out and a coward.

Abraham Lincoln was a centrist, until Shiloh after which he issued the Emancipation Proclamation, but he did that, to keep Britain out of joining the south.

British Milliners were dependent on Carolina Cotton, and Virginia Tobacco, and their sympathies were with the south, but they had a problem, Britain had abolished slavery as unchristian in 1832, and it was a political challenge to intervene on the side of the south, but the confederate victories made the choice easier (always bet on the winner), just as in the Revolution, the French were persuaded to back the rebellion after the victory of Saratoga in 1777.

Issuing the Emancipation Proclamation made it politically impossible for the Brits to intervene on the part of the south, though they did keep trade open,.

Until Shiloh, Lincoln was a centrist, although opposed to slavery, politically he would have rather avoided the war, by letting the south keep slaves, but that is not what the south wanted, South Carolina seceded because Congress would not legalize slavery in all states.
