Homelessness in Baltimore has long been part of the city’s landscape, not just a blip, but a chronic condition. It’s been there for most of my late-Millennial lifetime, quietly swelling even when the headlines look elsewhere.

Now, a new executive order from the White House is attempting to address this layered crisis, touching on homelessness, mental health, and the fractured housing infrastructure that haunts so many American cities. And while the news cycle is busy chasing scandals, viral moments, and courtroom drama, I wanted to take a minute to stew on what’s unfolding here at home.
